Art Docent

Welcome to the Einstein Elementary Art Docent Program!

What is the Art Docent Program?

The Art Docent Program is a PTSA funded art program that helps provide equitable access to art for all students. It introduces students to various art styles, techniques, and artists of past and present. The Art Docent Program relies on classroom volunteers to teach hands on art lessons which are curated by the Art Docent Chairs using both Lake Washington School Foundation developed lessons and original content.

How do I volunteer?

To volunteer as an art docent in the classroom, you must be an LWSD approved volunteer. You can apply to become an LWSD volunteer here. No teaching or art experience is needed to be an art docent volunteer! You will lead one art lesson per month in your student's classroom. Each art docent lesson takes about 1 hour from start to finish. All lessons are pre planned and all materials are provided!

Watch for a link to our online training session in September to learn more about joining our art docent volunteer team!
