Volunteer Descriptions
Board of Directors
PTSA Board Positions must be nominated and elected by the General Membership. Two people may hold any elected board position jointly, but in these cases, only one vote is allotted per elected position. Board members meet once monthly and attend 3-4 General PTSA Membership meetings yearly. In addition to the duties listed below, all elected officers are required to attend at least one WSPTA-approved training each year.

Committee Chairs and Volunteers
Committees are appointed by the board, coordinate, and oversee all functional matters concerning the program they work in. A program that requires more than two people to operate should be appointed a Chair. The Chair organizes, plans and then delegates smaller tasks to other volunteers for additional help (often through SignUp Genius). Unlike a Board Member, a Chair is welcome but is not required to attend monthly board meetings. Like Board Members, Chair positions can also be shared between two people. Some Chairs must report to a Board Member.
General volunteers are needed for many one time events during the school year from picture day to ice cream night and fun run support. No extended commitments are required to be a volunteer for these events.
